Terms of Service

Effective date: October 5, 2026

Operator: CompilationCreator, operated by Raymond Galpin ("we", "us", "our")

These terms cover the CompilationCreator desktop app, the website at compilationcreator.com, and the license server that activates the app. By buying, installing or using CompilationCreator, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use it.

Questions: support@compilationcreator.com.

1. What CompilationCreator is

CompilationCreator is a desktop app for macOS and Windows. It lists the videos on a YouTube channel, lets you pick and trim clips, downloads them to your computer, and joins them into one MP4 file.

All video work happens on your own computer. Videos you download or create never pass through our servers.

2. Who can buy and use it

You must be able to form a binding contract where you live. CompilationCreator is not directed at children under 13.

If you buy for a business, you confirm you can accept these terms on its behalf.

3. Buying through Paddle

Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record and reseller for all CompilationCreator orders. That means:

  • you buy from Paddle, not from us;
  • Paddle's Buyer Terms govern the purchase itself (payment, invoicing, sales tax and VAT);
  • Paddle handles your payment details. We never see your card details.

These terms govern your use of the app and the license that comes with your purchase.

4. The Lifetime license

A Lifetime purchase is a one-time payment. In return, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the CompilationCreator desktop app on one device at a time, under these terms.

  • Moving to another computer. Choose "Deactivate this computer" in the app, then activate on the new one. If the old computer is lost or broken, you can request a reset link by email. Email resets are limited to 2 per license in any 365-day period. After that, contact support and we will help.
  • Offline use. The app needs to be online once to activate. After that it keeps working without an internet connection.
  • Updates. Lifetime includes the updates we release for the app. We don't promise to release updates for any particular length of time, or that any specific feature will be added or kept.
  • One key, one license. Don't share, sell, or publish your license key, and don't try to get around the one-device limit or the activation system.

We keep all rights in the app that these terms don't expressly give you. Open-source components inside the app are covered by their own licenses (see section 9), and nothing in these terms limits the rights those licenses give you.

5. Supporter (applies once Supporter is offered)

Supporter is not on sale yet. This section applies only once it is.

  • Supporter is a monthly or yearly subscription. It does not include the desktop app or a Lifetime license; it is a separate product.
  • It renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
  • You can cancel anytime in Paddle's customer portal. After you cancel, Supporter stays active until the end of the period you paid for, plus a 7-day grace period.
  • If a renewal payment fails, Paddle may retry it. Supporter ends if payment isn't made.

6. Activation and check-ins

To activate, the app sends your license key, a device identifier and the app version to our license server. The device identifier is a one-way hash of your computer's system ID; the ID itself never leaves your computer.

While the app is running and online, it occasionally checks in with the license server (it checks every 6 hours whether a check-in is due; a check-in is due about once a week). If the app can't reach the server, nothing happens and it tries again later. Being offline never locks you out.

A check-in can end your license on that computer in two cases:

  • the license was moved to another computer; or
  • the license was revoked, for example after a refund or chargeback (see section 11).

The Privacy Policy explains what the license server stores.

7. Acceptable use

You may use CompilationCreator only with content you own, or that you have permission or another legal right to download, edit and reuse.

When you use the app, you must:

  • comply with copyright law and other laws that apply to you;
  • comply with the terms of the platforms you use, including YouTube's Terms of Service;
  • not use the app to get around access controls, such as paywalls, private or members-only videos, or technical protection measures;
  • not use the app to infringe anyone's rights or to harass anyone.

You are responsible for what you download, what you make, and how you use it. We don't review or control the content you process, and it never reaches us.

8. YouTube and other platforms

CompilationCreator is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google. "YouTube" is a trademark of Google LLC.

The app depends on how YouTube works today. YouTube can change its site or its rules at any time, and that may stop some or all of the app's features from working, temporarily or for good. We will try to keep the app working through updates, but we can't promise it. A change made by YouTube or another platform is not a defect in the app and is not grounds for a warranty claim. Your rights under section 12 and any rights you have under consumer law are not affected.

9. Third-party components

The app includes third-party software, including:

  • ffmpeg (GNU General Public License v3). We will provide the corresponding source code for the ffmpeg programs we distribute on request to support@compilationcreator.com, for at least 3 years after we last distribute that version of the app;
  • yt-dlp (the Unlicense);
  • Deno (MIT License);
  • Python and other components.

The full list and license texts are in the app's third-party notices. Each component's license governs that component.

10. Payments, prices and taxes

Prices are shown at checkout by Paddle in your local currency, including any tax Paddle must collect. Paddle may change prices for future purchases. A price change doesn't affect a Lifetime purchase you have already made. For Supporter (once offered), Paddle will tell you before a price change affects your renewals.

11. Refunds and chargebacks

Our refund policy is in the Refund Policy. In short: you can ask for a refund of a Lifetime purchase within 14 days.

A refund or chargeback revokes the license it paid for. The app then stops working on the activated computer at its next check-in.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

We work hard to make CompilationCreator useful and reliable, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties not stated in these terms, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that the app will be error-free, that it will always work with YouTube or any other platform, or that it will suit your purpose.

Some countries and US states don't allow these exclusions. If you are a consumer, you keep any rights the law gives you that can't be waived, including statutory rights about digital content that is faulty or not as described.

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows:

  • we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost data, or loss of content;
  • our total liability for any claim about CompilationCreator is limited to the amount you paid for it in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. If you are a consumer, these limits don't take away rights you have under the consumer law of the country where you live.

Keep backups of anything that matters to you. The app deletes its working files after an export is saved.

14. Ending your license

You can stop using the app at any time.

We may suspend or end your license if you seriously breach these terms, for example by breaking section 7, sharing your key, or trying to get around the licensing system. Where it's reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. If we end your license for a breach, you aren't entitled to a refund except where the law requires one.

Sections 7, 8, 12, 13, 15 and 16 continue after your license ends.

15. Copyright notices

If you believe someone is using CompilationCreator to infringe your copyright, write to support@compilationcreator.com. Include who you are, the work concerned, and what you believe happened.

Content made with the app stays on its user's computer and never reaches our servers, so we can't remove it. We can end a license that is used for infringement under section 14.

16. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of any mandatory consumer law of the country where you live.

If something goes wrong, please contact support@compilationcreator.com first. Most problems can be fixed that way. If we can't resolve it, either of us may bring a claim in small claims court, or in the courts of California. If you are a consumer, you may also bring a claim in the courts where you live, where your local law gives you that right.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the new version at compilationcreator.com with a new effective date. If a change materially affects you, we will also try to tell you by email or in the app. Changes apply from their effective date and don't apply to a dispute that arose before it.

18. General

  • If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
  • If we don't enforce a right straight away, we haven't given it up.
  • You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent. We may transfer ours, for example if the business is sold, as long as your rights aren't reduced.
  • These terms, the Privacy Policy, the Refund Policy and Paddle's Buyer Terms are the whole agreement about CompilationCreator.
